At University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya (UAS Mandya), we embrace the power of knowledge, regional empowerment, and sustainable farming. Rooted in the rich agricultural legacy of the Old Mysuru region, our university aims to be the catalyst for a new era of innovation and growth in agri-education.

Founded as the historic College of Agriculture at V.C. Farm in 1991, UAS Mandya has been nurturing agricultural talent for over three decades—offering B.Sc. (Agri.), diploma, and extension-focused programs to uplift our rural youth.

In early 2025, the Karnataka State Cabinet formally approved the establishment of the new agricultural university at the V.C. Farm campus—marking a long-awaited step toward regional agricultural advancement. Envisioned on the model of Shivamogga University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, UAS Mandya will unite the College of Agriculture (Mandya), College of Agriculture (Hassan), College of Agriculture (Chamarajanagar), College of Forestry (Ponnampet), and the College of Horticultural Sciences (Mysuru) under its banner. Its jurisdiction will cover the districts of Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, Chamarajanagar, and Kodagu

Research Interests & Expertise

My research is centered on advancing food science and nutrition through the development of innovative and sustainable food products. My foundational work focused on developing value-added food items from underutilized plant sources, such as lotus and watermelon rind by-products. This reflects a strong commitment to sustainable food science, utilizing agricultural by-products to develop marketable food items while reducing waste. I also have expertise in comprehensive food processing and product development. This includes designing and refining processing methods, thoroughly evaluating the nutritional properties of various food sources, and specializing in areas like nutrition and product formulation. As a professional in this field, I also contribute as a reviewer for academic journals.
