During the Annual Vice-Chancellors’ Conference of Agricultural Universities held at NAS Complex, New Delhi, on 22–23 January 2016, the proceedings emphasized the need to establish a Nodal Agricultural Education Cell and nominate a Nodal Officer for liaising with the Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi (Letter vide F. No. 20(3) 2015/EPHS dated 11.05.2016 by ADG–EP&HS). As per the directive, the Nodal Officer acts as the key person to coordinate all activities of the Education Division, including grants, accreditation, and related academic matters.
In line with this, the University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya has established the Nodal Agricultural Education Cell (NODAEC-ICAR) in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, UAS Mandya, with effect from 16th June 2025. The University has nominated a Nodal Officer - Agricultural Education to ICAR, who serves as the single point of contact between UAS Mandya and the ICAR Education Division.
The NODAEC functions as a Single Window System (SWS), providing all requisite information to the Agricultural Education Division, ICAR, from time to time. It facilitates smooth communication, ensures timely submission of proposals, coordinates accreditation processes, and supports the effective implementation of ICAR schemes and grants at UAS Mandya.
Through this Cell, UAS Mandya strengthens its academic governance, enhances transparency, and builds a robust interface with ICAR for advancing agricultural education, research, and extension.
The Project Planning and Monitoring Cell (PPMC) at UAS, Mandya plays a pivotal role in guiding institutional growth through strategic planning, monitoring, and evaluation of research, extension, and academic programmes. Functioning under the direct supervision of the Vice Chancellor, PPMC ensures timely execution of projects, optimal resource utilization, and alignment with national priorities.
PPMC supports the preparation of perspective and annual plans, evaluates the performance of technologies developed, and facilitates academic collaborations at national and international levels. It serves as a liaison between principal investigators, finance and purchase sections, and funding agencies.
PPMC assists in preparing Self Study Reports (SSR), Vision documents, and responses to legislative queries. It plays a vital role in consolidating reports for government bodies, monitoring faculty progress, and maintains a comprehensive databank of university activities.
By integrating policy inputs with ground-level execution, PPMC ensures that UAS, Mandya remains responsive to evolving agricultural challenges and stakeholder needs.
