My research is in the field of Vegetable Science with specialization in crop improvement and disease resistance breeding at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya, Karnataka. My research primarily focuses on genetic studies, molecular breeding, and the development of disease-resistant vegetable varieties in cucumber. My doctoral research at ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute emphasized understanding the genetics of downy mildew resistance in cucumber, contributing significantly to sustainable disease management strategies. I possess strong expertise in germplasm evaluation, genetic diversity analysis, and the application of molecular markers such as DNA-based tools for crop improvement. I have also contributed to research on plant physiology, nutrient management, and protected cultivation, particularly in parthenocarpic cucumber under polyhouse conditions. I have more than 10 research publications in reputed international journals highlighting my work in plant pathology, breeding, and genetic resources. In addition, I am actively involved in teaching, research, extension, and dissemination of scientific knowledge through articles, book chapters, and farmer-oriented publications, aiming to enhance productivity and sustainability in horticulture.
