My research interests are centred on climate change mitigation and environmental sustainability with emphasis on soil carbon sequestration, soil health management, nutrient cycling, soil–microbe interactions, precision agriculture, revalidation of fertilizer recommendations based on crop duration in major crops, remediation of contaminated soils, and digital soil mapping. The overall focus is on developing resilient and sustainable soil management strategies to enhance productivity while maintaining environmental quality. My expertise includes soil testing and fertilizer recommendation, management of salt-affected soils, recycling of organic resources, and integrated nutrient management in major crops such as banana, turmeric, paddy, maize, cotton, vegetables, and fruit crops. I also specialize in foliar nutrition using micronutrient fertilizers in crops like cotton, banana, turmeric, and vegetables. I have experience in farmer participatory research related to integrated nutrient management, diagnosis of field problems, and providing site-specific recommendations. My extension expertise includes capacity building of farmers, extension personnel, and rural youth through training programmes and field-based demonstrations, including frontline demonstrations, on-farm testing, method demonstrations, and media programmes. I also have strong laboratory expertise in soil, plant, water, and manure analysis, along with operation of advanced instruments such as Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, UV–Visible Spectrophotometer, Flame Photometer, and Automatic Distillation System. I have contributed 45 research papers and 3 book chapters.
