Research interests and expertise are centred on developing sustainable nutrient management technologies and stress mitigation strategies for improving crop productivity. Focus areas include the formulation of crop-specific multi-micronutrient mixtures to correct deficiencies, extraction of potassium from banana pseudostem and its delivery through biochar for enhanced nutrient recycling, and agro-industrial waste management through the development of pressmud–bagasse ash composites and utilization of distillery spentwash for soil fertility improvement. Organo-mineral composites have also been developed and evaluated for enhancing nutrient efficiency and ensuring balanced crop nutrition. Advanced research has been carried out on micronutrient-enriched halophilic microbial consortia for enhancing salinity tolerance and productivity of rice in sodic soils, as well as humic acid–enriched micronutrient formulations for improving nutrient efficiency and plant growth. Novel approaches such as the use of expired pharmaceutical nutrient supplements as alternative sources of conventional micronutrients have also been explored to promote waste valorization and resource recovery. Collectively, the research integrates nutrient management, microbial interventions, and recycling of agro-industrial by-products to strengthen soil health, improve crop resilience under adverse conditions, and advance sustainable agricultural practices that balance productivity with environmental safety.
