My research interests are Arbuscular Mycorrhiza in crop plants, horticultural crops, and forest tree species, along with the isolation of mycorrhizal spores from biodiversity-rich locations of the Western Ghats, including soil and root zone samples of different tree species. I focus on identification and mass multiplication of these spores to develop efficient arbuscular mycorrhizal pot cultures at the institutional level. Another priority area is the isolation, mass multiplication, and distribution of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) to farmers. I am also interested in the collection and cultivation of different mushroom species under varied agroclimatic conditions, including oyster mushroom (Pleurotus spp.), button mushroom (Agaricus spp.), and milky mushroom (Calocybe indica). Additionally, my work addresses the management of root rot diseases using biocontrol agents such as Trichoderma and Pseudomonas, and the use of biopesticides for pest management. Overall, my research integrates both fundamental and applied aspects of agricultural microbiology for sustainable crop production.
