Sanath Kumar is a distinguished agricultural scientist, professor, and rice pathologist currently serving at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Mandya, where he also fulfills the crucial administrative role of Comptroller. He obtained his Ph.D. in Agricultural Plant Pathology from UAS, Bangalore, graduating with top distinction in 2002. His exemplary academic journey encompasses diverse faculty positions, culminating in his appointment as a full professor.
An authority in fungal pathology and the molecular knowledge on Pyricularia oryzae, Dr. Kumar has successfully spearheaded numerous high-value research initiatives funded by prestigious national agencies such as the Department of Biotechnology, the Department of Science and Technology, RKVY and the National Horticulture Mission.
